Voices of Experience

We are partnering with the University of Denver's Voices of Experience program.  Program attendance is free, and all NACD members are invited.  Attendees receive 1 credit towards the NACD Director Certification Program for each Voices of Experience program attended.  When registering for a VoE event please state that you are an NACD member so you obtain VIP seating.

Davis, age 53, is chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp, a financial servicesholding company and the parent company of U.S. Bank. Davis has been an influencing force in the banking industry for 34 years. His leadership and prudent approach to financial management has garnered national and international praise for U.S. Bancorp, as he has led the company successfully through the recent economic downturn. His outstanding leadership skills were recognized as he was named the "2010 Executive of the Year" by the Twin Cities Business Journal and "2010 Banker of the Year" by the American Banker. Davis serves on the boards of numerous organizations and has been the recipient of the President's Lifetime Volunteer Service Award in 2007. In 2011,he received the Henrickson's Award for Ethical leadership and U. S. Bank is the recipient of the United Way Spirit of America Award. Davis earned a bachelor's degree in economics from California State University. He is married and the father of three adult children and has one grandson.

Joseph Saunders: Joseph W. Saunders was named chairman and chief executive officer of Visa Inc. in May 2007 after having been designated executive chairman in February 2007. Prior to joining Visa International, he served as president of card services for Washington Mutual, Inc. since the acquisition of Providian Financial Corporation in October 2005. Saunders was president and chief executive officer of Providian from November 2001, and chairman of the board of directors from May 2002, until Washington Mutual's acquisition of Providian in 2005. From 1997 until 2001, Saunders served as chairman and chief executive officer of Fleet Credit Card Services at FleetBoston Financial Corporation. Saunders served as a member of the board of directors of Visa USA from October 2002 to February 2007 and Visa International from October 2005 to February 2007, when he resigned from the boards of directors of Visa USA and Visa International to take the executive chairman position of the Visa transition governance committee. He holds a B.S. in business administration and an MBA, both from the University of Denver.
